| Edwin
Joseph Francis D' Souza, born in June 1948 is an Aloysian
throughout his academic career. He completed his PUC in 1966
and then obtained his B.Com degree from the SAEC in1972. He
obtained his PG Diploma in Konkani from the St.Aloysius Konkani
Institute in 2000.
Married
to Jane Lobo of Milagres parish in 1975, he worked in Kuwait
for about 16 years in the oil sector and returned to Mangalore
in1990. Edwin and Jane have one child, Ruth Esther who after
completing her B.A in Journalism at SAC obtained her Masters
in Communication at the Manipal Institute of Communication
and is presently a program Executive with ETV Bangalore. The
D'Souzas have settled down at "Fountainhead", Highlands,
Mangalore.
Edwin
is a prolific writer; novelist, columnist and a sort story
writer in Konkani with 28 published novels to his credit and
eight state and inter-state literary awards. His short stories
have been translated in to English and Hindi and one such
has been selected by Mr. Khuswant Signh for an anthology.
Edwin
is the present President of SACAA and spends most of his time
on the SAC premises taking up lecturers in Basic Theology
and Value Education. A dedicated Rotarian, Edwin has held
offices of the President of the All India Konkani Literary
conference in1992, President of the Konkani Writer's Forum
and as the literary editor of RAKNNO.
He
is an administrator, organizer, and speaker and is invited
regularly as a resource person at many Konkani seminars and
conferences.
