III - Christ's life |
|
| In
addition to paintings based on the life of St.Aloysius, the
chapel also pictures the life of Jesus Christ. These pictures
include the birth, baptism etc. of Jesus Christ till His crusifixion.
Most of these paintings include appropriate quotes from the
bible.
This
painting shows the birth of Jesus Christ in a manger, in Bethlahem.
The artist has created here, the effect of an illumination
that seems to originate from the new born baby, Jesus Christ.
The birth of Jesus Christ is celebrated throughout the world
as 'Christmas Day' every year on 25'th of December. |
| Jesus
Christ was baptised by John, 'The Baptist' on the bank of
the river Jordan. Notice the dove flying down towards Jesus
Christ who is kneeling down. It is believed that the heavens
opened and the Holy Spirit descended upon Jesus Christ, during
his baptism in form of the dove.
"As
soon as Jesus came up out of the water, he saw heaven opening
and the Spirit coming down on him like a dov. And a voice
came from heaven," You are my own dear Son. I am pleased
with you." Mark 1,9 -11
