St Aloysius College, affiliated to Mangalore University offers Bachelor of ARTs degree in History, Journalism, Economics, Political Science, Konkani, English and Communicative English. Bachelor of Science in Mathematics, Electronics, Microbiology, Biology, Physics, Biotechnology, Chemistry , Computer Science, Microbiology and Zoology. The College also offers a Bachelor's Degree in Commerce, Business Management , Computer Applications ( BCA) and Social Work ( BSW ).

Besides these under grad programs, the College offers Post-graduate Degree and Diploma programmes in Management , Computer Applications affiliated to Mangalore University.

Since 1999 St Aloysius College has been offering the MCA programme, and M.Sc- Biotechnology and MSW programmes were introduced three years back. Two years back the College introduced M Sc-BIOINFORMATICS programme. St Aloysius College is the only college to have M. Sc.- Bioinformatics in the State of Karnataka.

The Information Technology, Research & Management Centre of
St Aloysius College was inaugurate by
Dr A P J Abdul Kalam
, the President of India on 28 March 2003. The MBA and the MCA programmes are located in this modern building with spacious class rooms, well-equipped libraries, auditorium, seminar rooms and computer labs with 200 latest pentium machines and a high speed broadband Internet Access Centre with over 30 computers.

The well equipped General Library has over 60,000 books and subscribes to over a hundred journals. The Dewang Mehta Library , instituted in memory of Dewang Mehta by a friend of the College has over 10,000 volumes and journals. There is also a Digital Library. The MBA section has it's own library with over 3,000 books and journals.

Lectures are held in spacious class rooms with modern gadgets like LCD and OHP and other video projection systems. There is also Teleconferencing facility for EDUSAT and IGNOU programmes. ERIC MATHIAS HALL is a gift by Peter and Ashok Mathias, NY,USA in memory of their dear father Mr Eric Mathias, an alumnus of St Aloysius College. The Hall is used for seminars and National Level fests and conferences.

AIBA offers MDP and EDP programmes to executives. And the staff of the Institute are involved regularly in consultancy and extension programmes, and research.

The MBA programme is affiliated to Mangalore University and is approved by AICTE, Delhi. St Aloysius College has become AUTONOMOUS .

The Institute has moved to the NEW CAMPUS for Management & Information Technology, at Beeri, Ullal- about 11 Km from the present location. This sprawling campus has state-of-the-art infrastructure and excellent residentiall facilities for students. All the MBA students are expected to reside on campus.

The Management & IT Centre has excellent ambience for study and research. The libraries are open from morning 7.30 a.m. up to 10.30 p.m. Free Internet access is available to students of MBA and IT-Programmes

 

 

 

 

 

 

STUDENT ACTIVITIES:

VERVE is the South India level Management Fest conducted by our MBA students. This year there were 20 teams participating in various events. Students also organize MANASAMANTHNA, the paper presentation programme.

Conducting such events helps students to develop skills of team work, leadership, organization and management. Students are also encouraged to participate in fests and competitions conducted by other colleges and institutes. The Management Association organizes programmes for the students. Regular interaction with those in the Industry is also organized.
