OBJECTIVES
The aim MSc. Biochemistry program is to provide an understanding of every aspect of the structure and function of living things at the molecular level. The scheme of syllabus, instruction, examination, evaluation etc., has been prepared with the following objectives in mind.
- To provide state of art knowledge and skills in the field of Biochemistry.
- To generate manpower trained in Biochemistry suited to meet the needs of the research institutions/industry / academia.
- To have a positive impact on human and animal health, agriculture and environment in the region.
- To have 100 % placement for all the students who take up this course.
OUT LINE OF THE COURSE CURRICULUM
The course curriculum consists of four semesters which includes Lecture-Tutorial-Practical-self study schedule. Each semester comprises of eighteen weeks duration, including instructions and internal examinations. The student has to under take 192 hours of theory instructions and 256 hours of hands on experiments in a semester. Students must take up a research project work on any relevant topic which is evaluated. The course curriculum includes Assignments on related topics of syllabus, Class presentation, Seminars, workshops, Study tours, Poster and Oral Presentation, Guest lecture sections, Group Discussions and life skills.
The assessment is based on knowledge, intelligence, application, understanding of the concept of the subject and creativity. The overall performance of a student is indicated by two indices; SGPA (Semester Grade Point Average) and CGPA (Cumulative grade point average).
